Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh announced a significant shift in the state’s industrial policy, moving from restrictive “red tape” to a welcoming “red carpet” for global investors. Speaking at the 2026 Budget Session, the Governor highlighted Haryana’s 99.50% score in business reforms and record-breaking exports of ₹2.75 lakh crore. With mega-projects like Maruti Suzuki’s expansion and Asia’s largest lithium-ion battery plant now operational, Haryana is rapidly emerging as North India’s premier industrial and logistics powerhouse.
The Haryana Investment Hub Update gained major momentum today as Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh addressed the Vidhan Sabha. He declared that the state has successfully replaced “red tape” with a “red carpet” to attract global capital. Policy clarity and strong infrastructure have transformed Haryana into one of India’s most trusted investment destinations. The Governor noted that these reforms have already triggered record investments and accelerated employment generation across all sectors.
Haryana Investment Hub Update: A Top Achiever in Reforms
The Governor proudly shared that Haryana secured the ‘Top Achiever’ status in the latest Business Reforms Action Plan. With an impressive score of 99.50%, the state has implemented over 400 difficult reforms. This achievement reflects a core work culture centered on the ‘Ease of Doing Business.’ By removing outdated rules, the government has simplified the process for obtaining licenses and approvals.
The state’s strategic location near the NCR is also turning it into a major logistics hub. Therefore, both domestic and international companies are choosing Haryana for their headquarters. This shift ensures that the state remains at the forefront of India’s industrial evolution. Because of these efforts, investor confidence has reached an all-time high in 2026.
Historic Export Benchmarks and Economic Growth
Haryana has set new records in international trade during the current financial cycle. The state’s total exports touched a historic figure of ₹2.75 lakh crore in 2023–24. Furthermore, merchandise exports in the 2024-25 fiscal year reached ₹1,61,707 crore. This represents a robust growth of over 10.62% from the previous year.
These figures highlight the success of the state’s export-oriented policies. The manufacturing sector, in particular, has seen a massive surge in output. Consequently, Haryana is contributing significantly to India’s global trade footprint. Finally, the Governor emphasized that these rankings are a testament to the hard work of the state’s entrepreneurs and labor force.
Maruti Suzuki and ATL Battery Lead Mega Investments
Significant industrial milestones have defined the Haryana Investment Hub Update this year. Maruti Suzuki began commercial production at IMT Kharkhoda in February 2025 with an investment of ₹9,413 crore. A new ₹6,000 crore unit is currently under construction. It is expected to commence production in April 2026, further boosting the state’s automobile manufacturing capacity.
Additionally, the green energy sector is witnessing a revolution in the state. The first phase of the world’s largest lithium-ion battery unit by ATL Battery Technology started at IMT Sohna in September 2025. This project alone involved an investment of ₹3,000 crore. These mega-projects are creating thousands of direct jobs for the youth of Haryana.
Trust-Based Governance and Jan Vishwas Bill 2025
The present government is focusing on trust-based governance to support small and medium enterprises. A key part of this mission was the passing of the ‘Jan Vishwas Bill, 2025.’ This bill decriminalized 164 provisions across 42 State Acts on December 22, 2025. By removing the threat of imprisonment for minor technical lapses, the state has boosted the morale of business owners.
