Tiger Shroff was leaving a football match near Pushpa Park in Juhu on Sunday evening when men on a motorcycle opened fire on his BMW. The actor got away without any bullet injuries. He suffered only minor cuts from flying glass. His driver was hit in the hand, and another man was also wounded.
The shooting happened around 7 pm. Shroff had just finished playing and was in the car when the attackers pulled up in the crowd that had gathered outside. Three to four rounds were fired at the vehicle before the men fled. Mumbai Police have put 12 to 15 teams on the case, including Crime Branch officers. They are going through CCTV footage from the area; a forensic team has already collected evidence from the spot, and one person has been picked up for questioning.
Shroff was taken to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle for a check. Doctors confirmed he had no gunshot wounds, and he was later driven home under security. His driver, Firdaus, remains admitted there with a bullet injury to his left hand; police say he is out of danger. The second injured man, identified as Yogesh Chavan, is being treated at Cooper Hospital.
Attackers say they are linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang
Hours after the attack, a social media post and audio clip surfaced in which two men—Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu—claimed responsibility. They described themselves as linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and warned that anyone in the film industry who ignored their instructions or continued working with Salman Khan would face the same treatment. They also issued a direct threat against Khan and his family. Police have not confirmed the claim or established any gang connection.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the Mumbai Police Commissioner for details and told him to move quickly and act firmly. He also spoke to Shroff and assured him the government stood with him. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde condemned the attack, noted that Shroff had no personal dispute with anyone, and said the police would answer the attackers in their own language. No gang, he added, would be spared. Opposition parties have used the incident to question the state’s law-and-order situation.
This is not the first time Bollywood figures have been targeted in Mumbai in recent years. Gunmen fired outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home in April 2024, and shots were fired near filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s house this February. The latest attack has again raised questions about security for people in the industry.
